TIG News Update: New TSA Regulations
October 15th, 2009 at 4:38 pm   starstarstarstarstar

Travel International Group is working in cooperation with the TSA to introduce Secure Flight, a federally mandated program designed to help enhance the security of domestic and international commercial air travel through the use of improved watch list matching.

You will notice a few differences in our online booking process, most notably that we will be collecting passengers' first names first.  In addition, Travel International is required to ask you to provide additional Secure Flight Passenger Data for your passengers, which includes:

*  Full name, exactly as it appears on the current (non-expired) government-issued photo ID

    that your passenger(s) will be traveling with

*  Date of birth

*  Gender

You should ensure that the name provided when booking your travel matches the government ID that your passengers will use when traveling.  However, TSA has built some flexibility into the processes regarding name accuracy.  For the near future, small differences between the passenger's ID and the passenger's reservation information, such as the use of a middle initial instead of a full middle name or no middle/initial at all, should not cause a problem for the passenger.  Over time, passengers should strive to obtain consistency between the name on their ID and their travel information.

Thank you.
