Day 1 | Bienvenidos to Costa Rica!
Your EcoAmerica Tours representative will greet you at either the Liberia or San Jose airport, assist you with your luggage, and provide you with a private van transfer to the Rainforest of the Highlands in the Arenal Park for a three-night stay in volcano view accommodations at the hotel of your choice (*), with breakfast and taxes included. Check-in is available after 2:00 PM. Balance of the day is at leisure enjoying the facilities of the hotel. We recommend a day time arrival.

Day 2 | Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge | B.L.
Today, your local guide will escort you on a full day land and water expedition. Begin your journey with a scenic drive to the northern village of Los Chiles, drive through the San Carlos plains enjoying the beautiful scenery of the side of the road, where a great variety of agricultural products are cultivated, such as: sugar cane, cassava (yucca), pineapples, bananas, papayas, orange trees, legumes, and other fruits and vegetables. Located near the border of Nicaragua, The Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge and Rio Frio (Frio River) are biological humid areas considered to be one of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica where a great variety of flora and fauna can be observed.
The northern wetlands are considered among Costa Rica’s most eco diverse areas. Board your expedition boat and enjoy a Nature Cruise in search of exotic fauna. The Canals of the River “Rio Frio” and its breathtaking surroundings are home to thousands of animals, and with some luck you will have to opportunity to see monkeys, sloth, caimans, turtles, bats, and a great variety of birds living in their natural habitat. Return to the hotel after lunch.
Day 3 | Guided Tour of the Park & EcoTermales Hot Springs & Thermal Pools | B.D.
Morning at leisure to enjoy the grounds of the hotel. In the afternoon, meet your local guide and begin today’s activity: The adventure begins on the Western side of the volcano where you will partake on a guided easy hike on the Toucans Trail which traverses the rainforest and crosses over a large lava flow from 1992. It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, and magnificent lava rock formations. Once on the top of the lava flow you will have a beautiful view of the Arenal Lake. During the tour, your guide will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park. Afterwards, relax in the thermal hot springs and pools at the EcoTermales Thermal Pools. EcoTermales Fortuna is the crown jewel of a family owned and operated far, located on the foothills of the mighty Arenal Volcano, amidst the calm beauty of a lush tropical forest.
Day 4 | Arenal to the Monteverde Cloud Forest | B.
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a scenic 3- 3 ½ hour semi-private shared van transfer to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Private Reserve. Check-in at the hotel of your choice (*) for an overnight stay with breakfast and taxes included. Balance of the day is spent at leisure enjoying a visit on your own to the quaint town of Santa Elena.

Day 5 | The Monteverde Cloud Forest Adventures at the Selvatura Park with Tree Canopy Zip Line and Hanging Bridges / Afternoon Private Transfer to Tamarindo Beach | B.
Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel, and get ready for today’s adventure at the Selvatura Park where you will enjoy a Canopy Tour flying through 15 cables and 18 platforms with amazing views of the forest. The tour usually takes between 2 ½ and 3 hours and can be done by adventurers from ages 4 and older. It is a safe adventure for everyone although restrictions may apply. You will also enjoy a “walk in the clouds” during your Monteverde Hanging Bridges Natural History Adventure. At the appropriate time, one of our local drivers will provide you with a private transfer to Tamarindo Beach for a three-night stay at the hotel of your choice (*) with breakfast and taxes included.

Days 6 & 7 | Enjoying the Beach and Discovering the Natural Beauty of the Guanacaste Coastline | B.
Enjoy the beach at your own pace, venture into the countryside, or visit other nearby beaches and villages or just relax by the pool at the hotel.
Day 8 | Guanacaste / Liberia Intl. Airport / Home | B.
At the designated time, one of our local drivers will provide you with a private transfer to the Liberia airport to check-in for your onward flight.
